Paper Submission Details

MS Word Technical Paper Template/Guideline

MS Word Extended Abstract Template/Guideline

MS Word Abstract Template

The GeoEdmonton 2018 abstract submission phase is now complete and corresponding authors have been advised of their submission’s acceptance. Over 500 abstracts were received and almost all were selected to move on to the technical paper submission phase. The titles and corresponding authors of accepted abstracts are posted on the Accepted Abstracts page.

Complete technical papers must be submitted by May 15, 2018 using the online submission feature available on the Online Abstract/Paper Submission page. Corresponding authors (or presenting authors when not the corresponding author) must register as conference delegates to launch the paper submission link in a corresponding author’s account - the online delegate registration and payment system will be functional by the end of February 2018.

The Author's Release, Declaration and Understanding has been incorporated into the online submission process – all corresponding authors must select “Yes” in the Copyright Permission field or the paper will not be uploaded to the site.

The GeoEdmonton 2018 Technical Committee will review all papers for clarity, technical merit and relevance to the conference. Our goal is to inform corresponding authors of their paper’s acceptance by May 31, 2018 and possibly before. In cases where the reviewing team feels revisions are necessary, online comments will be provided with revised papers being due by June 22, 2018.

All accepted papers, for which at least one author has registered for the conference, will appear in the published proceedings of the conference – each registrant will receive a digital version as part of their delegate registration.

To help authors ensure their paper meets the conference’s presentation requirements, a Technical Paper Template/Guideline has been prepared. All authors must use this template and follow the guidelines to help ensure presentation uniformity in the conference proceedings – submissions that do not follow the prescribed formatting guidelines will be returned. Please take particular note of the abstract word count and page limits.

Authors whose abstracts have been submitted/accepted in the Hydrogeology Themes are not obligated to submit a full technical paper and a shorter, extended abstract is acceptable - an Extended Abstract Template/Guideline has been provided. However, it is imperative that at least a formatted abstract be submitted at the paper stage, so the Technical Subcommittee can make a final decision on participation in the oral or poster presentation program.

Final decisions regarding the presentation format and assigned session for approved papers/extended abstracts will rest with the Technical Subcommittee. GeoEdmonton 2018 will include a poster session with dedicated time in the conference program. Authors can indicate their preference for oral or poster presentation when they submit their paper.
